Memorial service scheduled for George Farrell, Professor Emeritus of English

The Lake Erie College community is sad to announce the death of Mr. George Farrell, professor emeritus of English, who passed away last week.

Given Professor Farrell’s 38 years of service and longstanding relationship with LEC students, alumni, faculty and staff, there will be a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2016 in the Helen Rockwell Morley Memorial Music Building. The service will occur on the last day of Homecoming Alumni Weekend as we anticipate many alumni will want to attend. Dr. Stephen Yachanin, professor of psychology, will plan the service in accordance with Professor Farrell’s expressed wishes.

Professor Farrell established the Professor George Farrell Endowed Scholarship Fund when he retired in 2007. Students who major in the liberal arts, maintain a B average or better and contribute in some way to the life of the College are eligible. If you wish to make a contribution to the Fund in memory of Professor Farrell, please indicate the name of the fund on your check and send it to the Office of Development or give online at Lynne Zele can be reached at 440-375-7250 if you have any questions.

We will share more information as we approach the date but wanted the community to be aware of these plans at this time.
