Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society announced this month that 45 collegiate chapters, including the chapter at Lake Erie College, earned the organization’s prestigious Silver Torch Award. This honor is given to Mortar Board chapters that execute all national criteria and deadlines while promoting scholarship, leadership and meaningful service to their institutions.
"The Mortar Board National Council is pleased that so many collegiate chapters [like that at Lake Erie College] meet the standards of excellence that make for a significant presence on their campuses,” said Jane Hamblin, executive director. "This is a point of pride for the administrators and faculty of the institutions that our chapters call home.”
