On a sunny fall day, waking up to the sound of bagpipes at 6:00 a.m. is music to our students' ears! This kicks off Mountain Day -- a tradition since 1903. All classes are cancelled, and students enjoy a day of outdoor activities.
Originally called "Little Mountain Day," it was an unannounced surprise that involved an excursion to a local area called "Little Mountain" and a hotel owned by College founder Charles Avery. Avery always made the property available to the Lake Erie students for their holiday.
Mountain Day is known fondly as a time of fun, food and friends. Each year, activities vary including a treasure hunt, games on the College Green and a steak dinner.
