Recent Graduate Logan Nordquist Playing Baseball in AustriaRecent Lake Erie College graduate and former Storm baseball player Logan Nordquist (from Alliance, Ohio) is continuing to play baseball this summer with the opportunity of a lifetime.
Nordquist is pitching in the Austrian Baseball League for Attnang-Puchheim Athletics in Austria. He made his debut June 22, allowing four runs in five innings in a 7-6 loss to the Vienna Metro Stars, the top offensive team in the league.
"I only had four days between traveling to Austria and pitching, so I was a little rusty," Nordquist told Storm head coach Brian McGee. "But it's been a great experience so far."
Nordquist is currently under a one year contract to finish this season and perhaps move on to play in the Australian league in the winter or next year. The season ends in mid-September after playoffs.
The recent graduate also played in Niagra Falls in New York in the summer of 2011. Nordquist graduated from LEC in May 2013 with a degree in biology. He was a member of the bible study group, the student-athlete advisory committee and a student ambassador.
