LEC Students Invited to Formal Holiday Dinner Saturday, Dec. 7Lake Erie College students are invited to attend a formal holiday dinner on Saturday, Dec. 7. The event will begin with a tree lighting ceremony at 4:30 p.m., mocktails will follow at 5:00 p.m., and seating for dinner is at 5:30 p.m. The dinner is for Lake Erie College students only.
Dinner begins with a mixed green salad with Danish bleu cheese, candied walnuts, cranberries and red balsamic vinaigrette. Assorted rolls with garlic and herb butter will also be served. Choice of entrée is a seared filet of sirloin with wild mushroom and bacon duxelle or herbed airline chicken breast with creamed leeks. There is also vegetarian entrée option available which includes roasted vegetable en croute with garlic cream sauce. Sides include dauphinois potatoes and hericot verts. Dessert will be cherries jubilee with vanilla bean ice cream.
The dining hall will be closed Saturday, Dec. 7 after brunch (1:00 p.m.); this will be the only dinner served this evening. Appropriate dress is required: men - dress pants, shirt and tie, sweater or blazer; ladies - professional dress, suit or pant suit is acceptable. No jeans, sweats, yoga pants, hats, athletic wear or nightclub attire is allowed.
