Lake Erie College students to compete in 2nd Annual LEC Idol Contest

PUBLIC INVITED TO VIEW EVENT ON FEB. 22

The great, and not-so-great, singers will belt out their favorite tunes during the 2nd annual Lake Erie College LEC Idol contest on Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. in the C.K. Rickel Theatre. The final contestants will compete for the title of LEC Idol, a prize of $150, a professionally recorded demo CD and a trophy.
             
All contestants will perform live and the judges will select the three finalists. The audience will vote by secret ballot from the top three, for one 2007 LEC Idol winner. Susanne Lane, last year’s LEC Idol contest winner, will also perform.
 
The three judges are Mark Bell, assistant professor of German and French, Jean Priddy, adjunt professor of musicand John Huston, assistant professor of theatre and chair of the fine arts department. Emcees are Billie Dunn, dean of students and John Meehl, director of academic services.
 
The event is sponsored by Alpha Psi Omega, the National Theatre Honor Society. Admission to the event is $2 for students, faculty and staff. General admission is $6, which includes pizza, pop and cookies.
