Elisabeth Giedt Awarded 2006 Excellence in Teaching Award at Lake Erie College(PAINESVILLE, OHIO) - Elisabeth J. Giedt, D.V.M., associate professor of equine studies, was awarded the 2006 Excellence in Teaching Award at Lake Erie College. She was selected by a group of her peers and students for this prestigious honor.
"I thank my students for nominating me for this award and to all who have so patiently guided me in the teaching and learning experience, " said Giedt. "At challenging times in my life, I have been reminded of the camaraderie and support of a small school. I am proud to receive this formal recognition."
Giedt has served as faculty member and Lake Erie College Equestrian Center veterinarian from 1987-1993 and 1998 to the present. She also works as a companion animal relief veterinarian, providing medical and surgical care to companion animals at area hospitals and is also in private equine practice, providing medical, surgical and reproductive care to horses at area farms. Giedt is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Northeast Ohio Equine Practitioners Association, Ohio Veterinary Medical Association and Geauga County Veterinary Medical Association. She resides in Chardon.
