Cheerleading and “Stormy,” the Mascot, tryouts to take place

Lake Erie College will be holding a 2010-2011 cheerleading tryout on Sunday, April 25 in the Jerome T. Osborne Family Athletic & Wellness Center. Dance instruction will be from noon to 1 p.m. followed by the tryouts at 1:15 p.m.

Those who wish to tryout for Lake Erie College’s cheerleading squad must be current students at the College who are in good academic standing or new students admitted by April 24, 2010 for the Fall semester.

In addition, the College will have a “Stormy,” the mascot, tryout on Saturday, April 24 at 11 a.m. in the Jerome T. Osborne Family Athletic & Wellness Center. The mascot must attend all home football and basketball games as well as periodic cheerleading practice to learn crowd cheers and represent the “Storm” in a positive manner. Those interested must come to the tryout prepared to wear the “Stormy” costume and perform a short routine to showcase their skills. They must also bring their own music.
