The Lake Erie College Department of Theatre will hold open auditions for its fall production of “Murder by Poe,” a terrifying Edgar Alan Poe mystery mashup by Jeffrey Hatcher.
Associate Professor of Theatre and Director Jerry Jaffe, PhD, invites members of the community to audition on Wednesday, August 22 and Thursday, August 23 between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Auditions will be held in the C.K. Rickel Theater in Royce Hall of the Fine and Performing Arts, located off Gillet Street on the Lake Erie College campus.
Callbacks will take place on August 24 at 6 p.m. or by appointment.
Those auditioning will be asked to participate in cold readings and improvisation. The ability to speak with a French accent is essential to many roles. “Murder by Poe” is dark and violent, and it will not be appropriate for children.

“As you can see, there are many parts and we would love to have you audition!” Dr. Jaffe said.
Eight performances of “Murder by Poe” will take place November 1-4 and 8-11 at 7:30 p.m., with the exception of Sunday performances, which will be at 2 p.m.
