Outreach Coordinator for the School of Business & Director of the Parker MBA Program

REPORTS TO: DEAN OF THE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS AND DIRECTOR OF GRADUATE STUDIES

STATUS: FULL-TIME, EXEMPT, SALARIED

Lake Erie College, a small, co-educational, four-year, independent liberal arts college located in Painesville, OH, 30 miles east of Cleveland, invites applications for the full-time position of outreach coordinator of the School of Business and director of the Parker MBA program. The outreach coordinator for the School of Business and director of the Parker MBA program, in collaboration with the dean of the School of Business and other personnel, is responsible for coordinating recruitment and community outreach for the School of Business, MBA program stewardship and developing strategic partnerships in support of the school’s programs. Major responsibilities include but are not limited to: program recruitment, growth and expansion; community engagement; working in collaboration with PR & Marketing to effectively market the School of Business for both undergraduate and graduate programs; advising MBA students; collaborating with off-site education partners; scheduling and presenting information and recruitment sessions at all cohort sites; tracking graduate employment; developing a strategic plan for the MBA program in consultation with the dean and director of graduate studies; and other routine matters with the MBA program, as needed and directed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organizes recruitment, community outreach, and engagement for undergraduate and graduate programs, with the requirement of ongoing and sustainable growth.

  • Oversees the academic quality of the MBA program and is responsible for collecting required assessment data from faculty.

  • Initiates the development of corporate partnerships and maintains said relationships.

  • Advises all MBA students to ensure successful degree completion.

  • In collaboration with the director of student career development & experiential learning, assists with maintaining current and accurate alumni data.

  • Collaborates with and manages the MBA program associate on student communication, retention, 4+1 applications and all other MBA program initiatives.

  • Develops and implements the MBA Strategic Plan, ensuring it aligns with the School of Business and Lake Erie College plans.

  • Collaborates with the dean and the director of graduate studies on all MBA current and future program strategies.

  • Coordinates joint activities with the director of graduate studies.

  • Provides budget personnel with annual projected enrollment and budget.

  • Collaborates with PR & Marketing and the MBA program associate to develop appropriate promotional materials and website information, including promotion of information sessions, faculty profiles and graduate testimonials.

  • Continues current and initiates new collaborative efforts with local community colleges and other offsite locations to maximize these relationships.

  • Develops and administers student satisfaction surveys.

  • Develops and maintains a good working relationship with all stakeholders of the program (faculty, students, staff, and external partners).

  • Develops and maintains course rotation cycles for graduate business programs.

  • Works with Advancement staff to facilitate and create advisory boards.

  • Coordinates all MBA program logistics, schedules, electives and events.

  • Provides recommendations for and assists the dean with graduate faculty assignments.

  • Creates and provides semi-annual reports to the School of Business dean and faculty.

  • Monitors the MBA budget.

  • Other duties as assigned by the dean of the School of Business and the director of graduate studies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree, master’s preferred.

  • A minimum of five years of job-related experience, with three years or more of graduate program experience preferred. Additional preference given for experience with MBA programs.

  • Knowledge of trends, issues and accepted practices relevant to the position.

  • Candidates must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
