LEC PA Program Director Sean Kramer Serves as a Facilitator for PAEA

Sean Kramer, MSHS, Program Director for the Lake Erie College Physician Assistant Program served as a facilitator for the Faculty Skills 101 Workshop for the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA). The workshop was held in San Diego, CA in October, 2022 at the PAEA National Conference.

Kramer was selected to serve as a PAEA facilitator in 2021. As a facilitator, he has the opportunity to supervise New Faculty Workshops offered for faculty, clinical coordinators and program directors from accredited Physician Assistant programs who are members of the PAEA. These workshops are designed to provide attendees with the essential skills and tools needed to excel in teaching PA students.

The New Faculty Workshops program was designed to provide resources, support, and training for PA faculty members. The Faculty Skills 101 Workshop provided education for over 80 new educators. The workshop also gave Sean the opportunity to build both leadership and presentation skills, which he can apply in similar projects at Lake Erie College.

“Evaluations from the workshop were very positive,” Kramer said. “Many attendees felt better in their new role and excited with ideas for their programs.”

Kramer credited the PA Education Association for providing him with knowledge and skills to be a better educator. In addition to facilitating for the PAEA National Conference, he is a site visitor for the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). He appreciates the opportunity to be able to give back toward the profession and future educators.

PAEA is the only national organization representing physician assistant educational programs in the United States. Currently, all of the accredited programs in the country are members of the Association. PAEA provides services for faculty at its member programs, as well as to applicants, students, and other stakeholders.
