Special education supervisor to receive award from the Ohio Association of Teacher Educators

On March 31, Jeanne Cocco, College Supervisor for special education students in the Lake Erie College Education Department, will be awarded the 2016 Outstanding College Supervisor Award during the Ohio Association of Teacher Educators (OATE) Awards Luncheon.

An annual event held at the Ohio Confederation of Teacher Education Organizations Spring Conference in Columbus, Ohio, the luncheon recognizes outstanding educators who make an impact on education departments and teacher candidates throughout the state.

Jeanne spent many years in the Willoughby Eastlake School system as a special education teacher and most recently as a special education administrator before joining the Education Department at Lake Erie College.

"Jeanne certainly deserves this honor,” said Pam Martin, Director of Clinical Experiences and Partnerships at LEC. “Her dedication and commitment to the teacher candidates she works with is outstanding. She goes above and beyond to help prepare them for their careers and is a true advocate for the LEC Education Department and her students. We are truly fortunate to have Jeanne as a LEC Campus Supervisor."
