The Hunt Seat and Western teams rumble into the end of their regular season when they head to the University of Findlay on March 12 for the Zone 6 Region 1 finals. This will be a big one, folks, so consider a road trip to support our Storm Riders as the Hunt Seat team tries to lock up their 4th ever Regional title. The Western team will be defending the Reserve Regional title during the same weekend. On March 19-20, LEC EQ hosts the first of four USDF/USEF rated dressage shows open to riders from across the region. The IHSA Western team will be competing in the Zone 6 Semi-finals the same weekend.

On April 1-3, consider coming to the EQ Center to watch the 53rd annual H/J Prix de Villes horse show, one of LEC’s oldest historically significant events. This is always a fun event and is sponsored by businesses around NE Ohio. The following weekend, the Dressage Prix de Villes takes place, the second USDF/USEF rated show at EQ. April 9-10 is a huge weekend for our IHSA Hunt Seat Team, with riders heading to the Zone 6 finals. On June 24-26, we welcome PATH International’s Region 4 when they host their regional conference here at EQ. LEC EQ is a PATH International Premier Accredited Center, a title that boosts the reputation of our center and our Equine Therapeutic Horsemanship major.

LEC EQ is proud to host the United States Hunter Jumper Association Emerging Athletes Program Regular Training Session this summer. From July 13-17, riders from across the country will come to the George M. Humphrey Equestrian Center to learn from US Olympic Showjumping Gold Medalist, Peter Wylde. For the first time in several years, EQ will host an open Western horse show when the Western Pennsylvania Reining Association comes to the George M. Humphrey Equestrian Center for their July horse show. This is a great opportunity for the LEC Western program to network with riders and trainers from around the region.
