Steinway Artist Joe Augustine to Teach Master Class Lecture at LEC

Fine Arts,

Lake Erie College is pleased to announce a Master Class lecture by internationally acclaimed jazz pianist and LEC Artist-in-Residence Joe Augustine will take place at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018.

A leading exemplar of jazz piano, Mr. Augustine has performed in musical settings from concert stages to jazz clubs. Over his career, he has received copious honors, including selection to the roster of Steinway artists in 1995 – a life-long honor and one that places him on an exclusive list among other jazz pianists like Diana Krall and Billy Joel and alongside immortals such as Cole Porter and Irving Berlin.

Mr. Augustine lectures extensively at universities and colleges using his training, experience and inventive musical style to transcend any singular student interest. His highly praised Master Class lectures reconnect art and artist with the social environment.

This collaboration between College and artist enriches the student experience on campus and complements the growing fine arts programs at Lake Erie College.

Mr. Augustine will lecture in the Paul S. Weaver Auditorium of the Helen Rockwell Morley Memorial Music Building. The lecture is free and open to the public.
