Career Services and Internships offers a variety of services and opportunities to educate students in the career development process. Career development is a lifelong process and it is important to begin during freshman year. From choosing a major to locating an internship and applying for jobs, Career Services can provide assistance.
Career Exploration and Development
- Help in choosing a major and a career.
- Individual career advising targeted specifically to the student and his or her goals.
- Information about career fields and employment outlook.
- Assistance in identifying transferable employment skills gained from college experiences including student activities, volunteer/community service, athletics, classes, jobs, and internships.
Experiential Learning: Internships
- IMAGE LC grant connects student interns with entrepreneurial businesses in Lake County.
- Internships may confirm student’s choice of career field.
- Provides transferable skills for resume content.
- Many experiential learning opportunities lead to permanent employment.
- Career Services provides assistance in locating appropriate internships.
Job Search Strategies
- Resume and cover letter assistance, and interview preparation.
- Information on local, regional, state, and national career fairs and events.
- Workshops on career-related topics including resume development, professional etiquette, interviewing techniques.

Graduate School
Advising on graduate school application process: institution selection, graduate
assistantships available, and testing preparation.
