Lake Erie College Raises $8.2 Million in | Transformative Fiscal Year

Lake Erie College announced today that it raised $8.2 million in gifts and pledges during the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, marking one of the most successful fundraising years in the College’s history.

“This incredible show of support from alumni, friends, foundations, corporate, and government partners is a strong vote of confidence in Lake Erie College and the impact of our mission,” said President Jennifer N. Schuller. “These gifts are fueling transformative progress on our campus and expanding opportunities for the students we serve.”

This year’s fundraising total reflects broad philanthropic support for key institutional priorities, including scholarships, academic innovation, and student-centered partnerships. The announcement caps a year of growth and momentum at the College, including:

  • Academic Restructuring to Meet Workforce Needs

In Summer 2025, Lake Erie College restructured its academic programs into three schools: Education, Business and Professional Studies, and STREAMS (Science, Technology, Research, Engineering, Animal and Medical Sciences). This strategic move is designed to align offerings with in-demand career fields and create clearer, more responsive pathways for students.

  • Construction of New Health Science Labs

With support from the State of Ohio, Lake Erie has developed new state-of-the-art health science labs, which will enable the college to better serve its health science majors and to add new academic programs in in-demand fields.

  • National Recognition for Physician Assistant Program

Lake Erie College’s Physician’s Assistant students won first place in the 2024 Project Access National Competition, outperforming more than 300 teams from across the country and demonstrating the program’s academic excellence.

  • Major Grant to Support STEM and Health Majors

The College was awarded a $779,000 Choose Ohio First grant to provide scholarships and wraparound services to students pursuing careers in high-demand STEM and healthcare fields.

As the College approaches its 170th anniversary, it continues to prioritize student access, academic excellence, and regional impact. “We are deeply grateful to every donor who helped make this year a success,” said Vice President of Advancement, Connie Skingel. “Your generosity is helping us shape a bold, student-focused future for Lake Erie College.”
