10th Annual Storytelling Harvest to kick off LEC Scholastic Book Fair

Lake Erie College will host the 10th annual Storytelling Harvest Saturday, Sept. 23 from noon to 2 p.m. This event for children and their families is free and open to the public.

LEC volunteers will read and act out stories on the College Green, behind College Hall. In case of rain, the event will be relocated to Garfield Center.

That day, attendees may visit the Scholastic Book Fair in the Education Resource Room (room A10) in Garfield Center. Proceeds from sales will be donated to the Painesville City Local Schools’ Book Box and the Lake Erie College Tomorrow’s Teachers club. In addition, books may be donated directly to the Book Box.

The following week, Sept. 25-29, the book fair will continue in the Resource Room from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Thursday, Sept. 28, hours will extend to 7 p.m.

Volunteers may still join. Student readers can count the Storytelling Harvest toward their community service hours.
