Associate Registrar
REPORTS TO: REGISTRAR
STATUS: FULL-TIME, EXEMPT, SALARIED
Lake Erie College, a small, co-educational, four-year, independent liberal arts college located in Painesville, OH, 30 miles east of Cleveland, invites applications for the full-time position of associate registrar. The associate registrar is responsible for the daily management of the Registrar’s Office activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees student registration.
Oversees independent study, individual investigation and internship registrations.
Responsible for classroom assignments and reservations.
Responsible for withdrawal processing.
Responsible for National Student Clearinghouse reporting.
Responsible for new student record creation, auditing, and maintaining current and former student records.
Responsible for the course schedule for all day, evening and weekend academic programs.
Assists with new student orientation as needed.
Oversees placement and waiver credit processing, including CCP, AP and CLEP credits in conjunction with the admissions transfer student coordinator.
Certifies degree completion:
Oversees the graduation application process and degree certification.
Processes Latin honors eligibility.
Creates diplomas: - Assists with the coordination and implementation of academic ceremonies in collaboration with other offices (e.g., commencements and Honors Convocation).
- Oversees the registrar’s office assistant and student workers.
- Assists the registrar with policy and procedure development.
- Assists with data requests as needed.
SEVIS designated school official.
Ensures the integrity of the institution’s academic records.
Ensures compliance with College policies and FERPA.
Performs general office duties as needed, including supply ordering.
Serves as acting registrar in the absence of the registrar.
Other duties as assigned by the senior vice president for academic affairs & institutional effectiveness and the registrar.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree.
Confidentiality.
Prior experience with managing logistics related to registration.
Ability to relate to the mission of a small, independent institution like Lake Erie College.
Jenzabar EX experience a plus.
Sense of humor.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
Excellent communication, collaboration, organizational, time management and computer skills.
The ability to function in a fast-paced office.
