The Lake Erie College Department of Education announced the return of the Scholastic Book Fair which takes place September 18-25, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each of those dates. There is no admission charge. Books that will be for sale are appropriate for ages Pre-K-through 5th grade. Some books will be available for teens and young adults, as well as limited book choices for adults. Want to make sure the youngsters in your life have access to quality authors and stories to stir their imagination? Then the nationally renowned Scholastic Book Fair is for you. Children are welcome to attend but must be accompanied by a supervising adult. Since 1981, Scholastic has been inspiring kids with the power of book choice, connecting them to their best selves through the expansive, expressive world that’s unlocked by declaring “I am a reader.” From bonding with characters to sharing with fellow book lovers, it’s a lifelong journey that starts at the Fair.

The Lake Erie College Department of Education has hosted the Scholastic Book Fair for more than a decade. Through this effort, the department has raised almost $10,000 in sales which has enabled it to donate many, many books to various literacy projects it sponsors. Education students staff the Fair and keep the energy high. Accepted methods of payment are cash, check, e-wallet and credit card.

The Scholastic Book Fair will be in the Education Office in the Garfield Center on the Lake Erie College campus in Painesville, Ohio. Free, convenient parking is in the lot adjacent to Garfield Center, with the lot entrance on Gillett Street.
