January

January begins with a YEDA horse show January 14-15 for high school Western riders hosted by the college. This is a great opportunity to show off our George M. Humphrey Equestrian Center to prospective Storm Riders.

Speaking of Storm Riders, the IHSA Western team heads to Findlay on January 28 for the first intercollegiate show of the semester.

February

The IDA team will be at Otterbein on February 4 for their first outing of the semester. February 4-5, the Hunt Seat heads to Findlay for their semester opener, and the Western team rolls into Findlay on February 11. IHSA Hunt Seat opens the LEC arena gates on February 18-19, and these riders have a score to settle! IDA wraps up February with its first home show on February 25-26.

The Hunt Seat and Western teams rumble into the end of their regular season when they head to the University of Findlay on March 11 for the Zone 6 Region 1 finals. Both of these young teams are hungry for a win, and they would appreciate a cheering section full of LEC Storm supporters!

On March 18-19, LEC EQ hosts the first of three USDF/USEF-rated dressage shows open to riders from across the region. On Sunday, March 19, the IDA team will duck down to Findlay for a mid-season show at Findlay.

IHSA Western riders who qualify during regionals will travel to the Zone 6 Western semi-finals on March 25-26.

On April 14-16, consider coming to the EQ Center to watch the 54th annual H/J Prix de Villes horse show, one of LEC’s oldest historically significant events. This is always a fun event and is sponsored by businesses around NE Ohio. The following weekend, the Dressage Prix de Villes takes place, the second USDF/USEF-rated show at EQ.
