Academic Learning Center and Tutoring at Lake Erie College | Painesville, OH

The Academic Learning Center is a network of complementary services designed to empower students to fulfill their academic potential and to support their academic success. The ALC is composed of three primary areas — the Writing Center, the Mathematics Lab and Tutorial Services.

The Academic Learning Center is located in the James F. Lincoln Library (second floor). Tutoring is offered during Fall and Spring Semesters. All tutoring services are free to Lake Erie College students. Hours of operation are posted on the ALC webpage, on posters across campus, and sent through regular emails to campus. The ALC is closed during the summer, between semesters, during academic breaks, on holidays, on snow days, and for campus emergencies.

  • Students enrolled in EN100 are required to visit the center with each essay assignment, but all students are encouraged to take advantage of the benefits of the guided assistance that is available.
