Director of Clinical Experiences and Partnerships
REPORTS TO: AREA CHAIRPERSON FOR THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT STATUS: FULL-TIME, EXEMPT, SALARIED
Lake Erie College, a small, co-educational, four-year, independent liberal arts college located in Painesville, OH, 30 miles east of Cleveland, invites applications for the full-time position of Director of Clinical Experiences and Partnerships. The Field and Clinical Experience Director will be a full-time, 10-month staff position in the Education Department. The Director of Clinical Experiences and Partnerships will be responsible for all placements in PK-12 schools of all undergraduate and graduate teacher education candidates in each of their required field placements as well as in student teaching.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Places all undergraduate and graduate teacher candidates in placements for each of their required field experiences.
Places all senior teacher education candidates in appropriate student teaching placements.
Ensures that all teacher education candidates have met the mandated Gate Assessment criteria for field and clinical placement.
Recruits, trains, assigns, and coordinates all cooperating teachers.
Serves as an integral part of the professional team and participates in all planning and decision-making for the Education Department.
Maintains all records and data documenting each candidate’s experiences as well as aggregated data for the department. Works closely with the Department Chairperson and the Accreditation and Assessment Director to ensure that program evaluations, performance assessments, proprietary assessments, and data are shared with faculty members and used for program improvement.
Assigns and supervises all LEC adjunct supervisors who are responsible for direct coordination and assessment of their respective candidates.
Ensures that all grades and paperwork for all teacher education candidates are completed.
Maintains open communication with all partner schools and establishes any appropriate professional development activities deemed necessary for the cooperating teachers and PK-12 schools.
Establishes partnerships with area school districts.
Maintains the Education Department Advisory Board and all duties related.
Other duties as assigned by the area chairperson for the Education Department.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree in Education or related field.
Experience with data analytics and visualization.
Experience or knowledge of CPAST and edTPA.
Fluent use of Google Suite.
Excellent communication skills.
