Lake Erie College’s Kappa Delta Pi Chapter Honored with| Celebration of Teaching Award
Lake Erie College is proud to announce that its chapter of Kappa Delta Pi (KDP), the International Honor Society in Education, has been recognized as a Celebration of Teaching Award Recipient.
Its service project “Donut Know What We’d Do Without You!” earned Silver Level distinction for its heartfelt efforts to celebrate local educators during Teacher Appreciation Week. Members of the Alpha Lambda Lambda Chapter at Lake Erie College visited Our Shepherd Lutheran School, where they personally delivered donuts, treats, and messages of gratitude to twelve teachers. Chapter members planned, funded, and executed the project entirely on their own, emphasizing personal connection and sincere appreciation.
Adding to the significance of the event, the chapter discovered that Our Shepherd’s new principal is also a KDP member, making the celebration a meaningful reunion of educators united by a shared passion for teaching and learning.
The Celebration of Teaching Awards are presented annually by Kappa Delta Pi to recognize chapters that go above and beyond in supporting educators, cultivating future teachers, and elevating the profession. Only twelve chapters nationwide were honored this year for their innovative, high-impact projects.
Lake Erie College congratulates the Alpha Lambda Lambda Chapter on this achievement and commends its members for their continued dedication to the ideals of leadership, scholarship, and service in education.
