Lake Erie College School of Equine Studies
Founded in 1955 by renowned horseman Laddie G. Andahazy, Equine Studies at Lake Erie College was the first academic equestrian program of its kind in the United States. An American Horse Show Association judge in ten disciplines, Andahazy was instrumental in bringing international show jumping to North America through the creation of the Cleveland Grand Prix.
With deep industry knowledge and a visionary approach, he developed a rigorous four-year bachelor’s degree program designed to produce capable, well-rounded professionals for the equine industry. Today, Lake Erie College proudly continues his legacy through innovative, individualized programming that prepares students for success in all areas of the horse world.
