Harvesting Health at Lake Erie College: Third Annual Community Health Fair | Returns this Fall

On Sunday, September 21, 2025, Lake Erie College will host the third annual Community Health Fair—a volunteer-run event designed to connect Lake County residents with essential physical and mental health resources.

Spearheaded by the College’s Physician Assistant (PA) Alumni, this event is expected to welcome more than 200 local children, adults, and seniors for free health and wellness screenings. With guidance from Dr. Johnathan Tedesco, Dean of the School of STREAMS (Science, Technology, Research, Engineering, Animal and Medical Sciences), the PA students have taken the lead in planning, organizing, and delivering this community initiative.

This year’s fair aims to feature an incredible 60 local health care partners, including representatives from hospitals, primary care and mental health providers, local health departments, LGBTQ+ organizations, and other community support services. Attendees will have access to health education, screenings, and vital information about affordable care options available in the region. Healthcare and wellness organizations are welcome to sign up as partners for the event on the website listed below.

“The goal of this event is to provide attendees with as many resources, ideas, and support options as possible—even if it’s the only health-related event they attend this year,” said Dan Bixel, Lake Erie College Alumni and Harvesting Health Fair Director.

Lake Erie College is proud to serve as a hub for community engagement and health equity. Harvesting Health reflects the College’s commitment to fostering well-being through education, service, and partnership.
