Lake Erie College Names Dr. Jennifer Kinnaird Dean of the School of Business

Dr. Jennifer Kinnaird, department chair of business at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas, has been selected as Lake Erie College’s Dean of the School of Business after a national search. She is scheduled to begin on July 1, 2019, and will succeed Dr. Robert J. Trebar, who passed away unexpectedly in October 2018.

Originally from Kansas, Kinnaird previously served business programs at McPherson College, where she created numerous courses, led accreditation reaffirmation efforts regarding resource, planning, and institutional effectiveness. During her time at Bethany College, she led departmental strategic planning efforts and played a key role in regional accreditation efforts. With over 17 years of experience teaching at the college level, she is experienced in developing and delivering online, traditional, and hybrid courses, and demonstrated extraordinary abilities to collaborate across various programs and disciplines to support academic innovation. In addition, her sustained efforts in assessment, program development, and the ability to build strategic alliances to support academic and student success are attributes that contribute to her selection as the next business dean and LEC.

“I am excited for the opportunity to join the Lake Erie College family and to be a part of an organization that is poised for many great things,” shared Dr. Kinnaird. “I look forward to working with the many wonderful, caring and skilled individuals at LEC to continue moving the College in its progressive and positive direction.”

Dr. Kinnaird holds degrees in Business Administration and History from McPherson College, a Master of Business Administration and Master of Arts in Human Resource Management from Webster University, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Management from Capella University.

“Dr. Kinnaird has a wide range of experiences in higher education and in a variety of roles. I am confident that her leadership skills and extensive academic and professional background will propel our already outstanding business programs into a new era of innovation and success,” says Dr. Bryan DePoy, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer at LEC

Lake Erie College’s School of Business is accredited by the International Assembly of Collegiate Business Education, and offer multiple undergraduate degree programs as well as a Master of Business Administration degree with several concentrations.
