Lake Erie College to Host Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for | New Turf Field
Lake Erie College is proud to announce the grand opening of its new on-campus turf field with a formal Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. The ceremony celebrates the completion of a major campus enhancement, made possible by a $1.5 million grant from the Lake County Board of Commissioners.
The turf field will serve as the home for several Storm Athletic teams, including men’s and women’s soccer, lacrosse, and more. It marks a major investment in student experience, athletic excellence, and campus life.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Lake County Commissioners for their vision and support,” said Lake Erie College President Jennifer N. Schuller. “This new turf field represents more than just an athletic upgrade, it’s a space for our students to compete, connect, and create lasting memories as part of the Lake Erie College community.”
The celebration will include:
Food trucks open at 1:00 p.m.
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 3:00 p.m.
Men’s Soccer Game at 4:00 p.m.
Women’s Soccer Game at 7:00 p.m.
The event is open to the public, and all are welcome to attend and experience the energy and excitement of Storm Athletics.
Parking Information: Attendees are asked to park in the Fine Arts Center Lot, off Gillett Street, or Holden Parking Lots. Directional signage and campus volunteers will be on hand to assist.
