Registrar's Office
Lake Erie College provides opportunities for individuals who are not seeking a degree from the institution but wish to continue their education by taking courses at Lake Erie College for college credit. Non-degree students, or students who are not pursuing a degree at this time, include: College Credit Plus (CCP), students enrolled at other colleges or universities (transient students), institution faculty/staff, members of the community, senior citizens, or Lake Erie College graduates who wish to take additional courses. Credit earned as a non-degree-seeking student may later be counted toward a degree; however, students must apply for admission as a regular degree-seeking student. Contact the Office of Admissions for the appropriate application and admission information. Non-degree-seeking students are not eligible for financial aid. Enrollment is limited to regularly scheduled courses on a space-available basis, and not all courses are available through this option. Information about this option is available in the Registrar’s Office. Students must complete a Life Long Learning/Transient Student Application in the Registrar’s Office. Following registration by tuition-paying students, enrollment will be granted in any course that meets minimum enrollment and has not reached the maximum enrollment at the time established by the College for confirming the status of offerings. Students are governed by existing academic policies. Courses may be taken as graded or audited. A maximum of twelve (12) credit hours may be taken as a non-degree-seeking student.
Alumni Audit
Alumni holding degrees from Lake Erie College are eligible to take further coursework. Alumni are entitled to enroll in one course of up to four credit hours per semester as a non-degree-seeking student, on an audit basis. The cost for undergraduate and graduate audit coursework is the College Fee per credit hour, as outlined in the Tuition and Fee Schedule. If the student wishes to take the course for graded credit, the cost is the Tuition and College Fee per credit hour, as outlined in the Tuition and Fee Schedule. Alumni may take only courses at the level of the degree earned.
College Credit Plus Program
High school students may take coursework through the State of Ohio’s College Credit Plus program. This program is designed to offer qualified high school students the opportunity to experience college-level classes as a supplement to their high school education. Contact the Office of Admissions for information on the CCP application process and additional policies. The maximum of 12 credit hours policy does not apply.
Lifelong Learner/Senior Citizen
Life-long learners or senior citizens are individuals who are not pursuing a degree or certification and wish to take classes. Cost for a Lifelong Learner for undergraduate coursework is the Tuition and College Fee per credit hour, according to the Tuition and Fee Schedule in the catalog found at catalog.lec.edu. Registration is based on instructor approval, space availability, and meeting all prerequisites. Letter-graded courses are charged the Tuition and College Fee per credit hour. Please see the Registrar's office for more information. Proof of age is required.

Transient students are not eligible for federal financial aid at Lake Erie College.
