Physician Assistant Program | Lake Erie College

Lake Erie College’s Physician Assistant (PA) Program reserves up to four seats each year for qualified LEC undergraduate and eligible transfer students through its Early Acceptance Opportunity (EAO). This program allows students to secure a reserved, tentative seat in the PA Program two years before their intended start date, provided they meet all ongoing academic and professional requirements. Applicants must submit a letter of interest between March 1 and May 1 two years prior to matriculation, followed by transcripts, recommendations, a résumé, and proof of shadowing and healthcare experience. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 is required for interview eligibility. Accepted students must maintain a 3.5 GPA, earn at least a “B” in all prerequisite courses (with a minimum “C” in Organic Chemistry), complete 750 hours of healthcare experience and 100 hours of PA shadowing, and participate in at least two PA department events each year. Students must also submit a CASPA application, complete a formal interview, and uphold the highest standards of academic and personal conduct to retain early acceptance. Those who do not meet EAO standards may still apply to the PA Program through the traditional CASPA process.
