Lake Erie College Launches Master of Educational Leadership with Athletic Administration Track

Lake Erie College proudly announces the launch of a new Master of Educational Leadership (MEL) with a concentration in Athletic Administration, designed to prepare the next generation of leaders in school-based athletics and educational organizations.


This innovative graduate program blends foundational leadership principles with specialized training in athletic administration, equipping candidates with the knowledge and skills needed to lead high-performing, ethical, and student-centered athletic programs.


The program addresses a growing need for qualified athletic leaders who understand not only sports management, but also the broader educational mission of schools. Graduates will be prepared to serve as athletic directors, administrators, and leaders who promote student success, compliance, and community engagement.

  • Comprehensive Leadership Preparation: Grounded in educational leadership standards, including organizational management, school law, and data-driven decision-making

  • Specialized Athletic Administration Courses: Covering facilities and event management, legal issues and risk management, Title IX and equity, marketing and public relations, and human resource supervision

The Athletic Administration track is aligned with national expectations for athletic leadership, including competencies emphasized by organizations such as the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA), ensuring graduates are prepared for both immediate impact and long-term career advancement.
