Lake Erie College is proud to announce the launch of a new Graduate Certificate in Conflict Management, Negotiation, and Organizational Dynamics within the School of Business. Designed for working professionals, the fully online program equips students with advanced skills to effectively manage conflict, lead difficult conversations, and navigate complex organizational environments.
The 12-credit graduate certificate can be completed in one year through the College’s flexible seven-week course format. Students will engage in four sequential courses that emphasize real-world application, strategic communication, and practical problem-solving.
“Today’s organizations demand leaders who can navigate complexity, manage conflict, and communicate effectively under pressure,” said Lake Erie College Assistant Professor Dr. Aibak Hafeez. “This program is designed to bridge theory and practice, giving professionals the tools and confidence to handle high-stakes interactions and drive meaningful outcomes in their organizations.”
Program Curriculum
The certificate includes four graduate-level courses (3 credit hours each):
Conflict Dynamics in Organizations: Power, Identity, and Culture:
Explores the root causes of workplace conflict, including power structures, identity, and cultural influences, while providing frameworks for analyzing and diagnosing conflict.
Strategic Communication and Difficult Conversations:
Focuses on communication strategies for high-stakes interactions, including active listening, reframing, and delivering effective feedback.
Negotiation and Influence in Organizations:
Introduces negotiation theory and practice, including distributive and integrative approaches, influence strategies, and decision-making techniques.

Flexible Pathways and Affordability
The certificate is open to professionals with a minimum 3.0 GPA or relevant industry experience.
To make the program even more accessible, Lake Erie College is offering an introductory tuition rate of $1,000 per course—more than 50% off standard graduate tuition. Upon completion of the 12-credit certificate, students who choose to continue into the MBA or Master of Professional Studies (MPS) program can apply all four courses as electives to complete their degree.
