The Graphic Design and Visual Communication program at Lake Erie College will host its BFA Senior Showcase on Wednesday, April 29 from 12:00–1:00 PM in Rickel Theater, Royce Hall.

This culminating event highlights the work of graduating seniors Alex Dowling, Matt Dunlap, and Elisa Huang, who will present a curated selection of their design portfolios developed during their time at Lake Erie College. The showcase reflects a range of disciplines including branding, typography, publication design, digital media, and motion graphics.

"It's been an adventure. From flyers to websites, ads to boxes, I feel like I really learned what it takes to design something,” said senior Alex Dowling. “I learned a lot during my journey here at Lake Erie, both in terms of how to navigate the complex software but also what goes into a great design. Being creative is one thing, but being able to refine that creativity through knowledge and practice is what truly makes me feel like a graphic designer. If I can inspire at least 1 person with my work, I'll know I succeeded."

In addition to student presentations, the program’s instructor will share insights into the evolution of the Graphic Design curriculum and future directions of the program. The event will conclude with a Q&A session followed by a reception with light refreshments, providing an opportunity for attendees to engage with the designers and view their work up close.

“This showcase is a celebration of the creativity, growth, and dedication our students have demonstrated throughout their time in the program,” said Meredith Pangrace, Visiting Instructor of Arts & Humanities at Lake Erie College. “Each portfolio tells a unique story and reflects not only strong technical skills, but also thoughtful problem-solving and personal voice. We’re excited to share their work with the campus and the broader community.”

This event is free and open to the public, and all students, faculty, staff, and community members are encouraged to attend.
