Master of Educational Leadership

This January, Lake Erie College is introducing a new Master of Educational Leadership Principal Licensure Program for professional educators who aspire to become school principals. In high demand in Ohio, graduates of this program can step into a principalship and bolster their leadership profile across an entire school district and the community at large. The online program fees are the lowest in northeast Ohio with high value for qualified applicants.


Registration is open now at lec.edu at www.lec.edu/graduate-studies for the program launch beginning January 16, 2024.


Tuition and Fees

  • Master of Education: $499 per credit hour

  • College Fee: $51 per credit hour


Requirements

  • 3.0 GPA

  • 2 years of successful teaching in Ohio


The Educational Leadership Principal Licensure Program is a comprehensive and rigorous academic and professional program, designed for aspiring school principals and educational leaders. This program provides students with the theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and real-world experience needed to effectively lead, manage, and innovate.


Dr. Gregory Rothwell, the director of Department of Education and Professional Studies,

underscores the multifaceted advantages that obtaining a principal licensure brings to

just a personal and professional achievement -- it is a transformative step that propels

educators into multifaceted roles. In addition to a significant increase in income, a principal

licensure allows a teacher – even with two year’s experience -- to take on leadership roles in

their district. School principals are in high demand and our graduates will stand out in their

communities as they serve the high demands of public education.”


The faculty selected for this program are outstanding professionals in their own right. They

bring their real-world experiences to the learning environment to offer hands-on knowledge

about how these roles encompass leadership within the educational system, community

building, and even influencing the broader societal landscape.



Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 plus two years of successful teaching experience in Ohio (state requirement).
