NEOSTEAM23| Event

The ESC of the Western Reserve embark on their second year of collaboration with Lake Erie College to highlight STEAM pedagogy, programs, and projects taking place at Lake Erie College, in our schools, and across Northeast Ohio communities.

Central to the theme of the event is the idea of what motivates and sustains our curiosity. We are focusing sessions on Environmental Justice. We will connect to earth sciences, consider our educational paths, spark curiosity through placemaking and creativity, and more.

The Opening Keynote will bring in perspectives of STEAM students and professionals to bridge the possibilities of a future near and of opportunities that are within reach after high school with the right mindset. Our Breakout Sessions will divide the groups into pathways for students and teachers/administrators, with students participating in a rotation of hands-on, inquiry-based workshops, an interactive lunch, and closing session. Teachers/Administrators engage with sessions focused on developing stronger STEAM collaborations, inquiry-based teaching and learning, and resources. Sessions will be a mix of ESCWR staff, LEC Professors, HIVE at Lakeland, and Arts/STEAM partners.
