Tammy Plants | Staff

Tammy Plants began her career at Lake Erie College in March 2020 as an Admission Counselor and now serves as a Senior Admission Counselor. She enjoys guiding students through the admission process and helping them turn their passions into meaningful and successful careers.

She attended Kent State University and went on to spend much of her career as Director of Purchasing and New Product Development for a large equine internet/catalog company. In that role, she created new product content, coordinated photo shoots, edited catalogs and websites, and managed staff—experiences that gave her a strong foundation for mentoring students as they prepare for their own professional journeys. She also developed an Equestrian Awards program for the prestigious Quarter Horse Congress.

Beyond her work in admissions, Tammy lives on a country farm where she raises and shows Quarter Horses, many of which have earned multiple championships. She continues to be actively involved in the equine industry and manages a two-day horse show each year.

In addition to her equestrian expertise, Tammy is a big baseball fan and enjoys connecting with student-athletes about their sports and future goals.
