Lake Erie College is proud to be one of only four institutions in Ohio that have been awarded a grant from the Governor's Office of Workforce Transformation to provide teachers with industry-relevant skills. Through Ohio’s Teacher Bootcamp Program, educators can earn graduate credit while gaining firsthand experience in high-demand industries—at no cost to them.
What is Teacher BootCamp?
This intensive, one-week professional development program immerses 7th-12th grade teachers in key industry sectors, including:
Advanced Manufacturing
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Broadband & 5G
Cybersecurity
Healthcare
Transportation
Skilled Trades
Participating teachers will receive 3 graduate credits for their work in the program, fully reimbursed by the state.
What to Expect
Each BootCamp week follows a structured schedule that balances on-campus learning with hands-on industry exposure:
Monday: Orientation and coursework at Lake Erie College
Tuesday – Thursday: Site visits and industry experiences at: University Hospitals Geauga Campus Alliance for Working Together Component Repair Technologies
Friday: Reflection and presentation of findings at Lake Erie College

Choose from three available sessions: June 9-13, 2025 June 16-20, 2025 July 7-11, 2025
Eligibility & Requirements
Open to 7th-12th grade teachers (limited to 15 participants per course) Must provide own transportation to and from industry sites. Must complete a two-step tuberculosis test and provide documentation.
