How do I send my transcripts?

Contact the registrar at each college or university where you completed coursework and request an official transcript be sent to Lake Erie College.

Official transcripts must be forwarded directly from the sending institution to the Office of Admission of Lake Erie College. An official transcript presented by the student in a sealed envelope from the sending institution may be accepted in certain circumstances. Only official transcripts can be used for official evaluation and awarding of transfer credit.

Unofficial transcripts may be submitted for a preliminary transfer evaluation.

A student may be required to provide copies of catalog description of course syllabi to assist in the evaluation of transfer credit.

An official transcript is required even if courses are not transferrable.

Note: A class registration “block” will be placed on a student's account for the second semester if the official transcript is not received.

What are LEC’s Residency Requirements?

Transfer students must meet Lake Erie College residency requirements as listed:

20 semester credits in a major

50% semester credits in a minor

50% semester credits in a concentration

Will I lose credits if I transfer from a school that is on the quarter system?

Quarter-hour credits are converted to two-thirds of semester-hour credits. For example, 15 quarter credits would transfer as 10 semester credits.

When should I apply? What are the deadlines?

We have rolling admission, so we do not have hard deadlines for applications. But the sooner you register the better! Ideally, applications should be completed at least a week before courses start for the semester.

How do I schedule classes?

Once a student deposits, they will work directly with an academic advisor to schedule classes for the upcoming semester.
