Dr. Prasad Sarma Fulbright Visit| Event
Lake Erie College is excited to welcome Dr. Prasad Sarma to campus from October 18 to October 21, 2023!
Dr. Sarma's visit is in partnership with the Fulbright Scholar Program and its Outreach Lecturing Fund. Dr. Sarma's research focuses on developing electrolyzers for hydrogen production through water splitting. Hydrogen can be used to generate power for a whole range of needs and, most critically, can result in zero greenhouse gas emissions as we power our world. Water splitting is an emerging method for producing hydrogen, and Dr. Sarma focuses on the key physical unit where this process happens - the electrolyzer.Â
During his time on campus, Dr. Sarma will meet with students, faculty, staff and community groups in various formats - class visits, spotlight lecture, open forum, small groups, lunch & learns - to share both his research and his personal journey from his home in Kerala, India, to his Fulbright grant at the University of Oregon.
The spotlight lecture will take place on Thursday, October 19, at 7 p.m. in Dickinson Auditorium in Austin Hall.
