Lake Erie College and Gannon University Partner to Streamline Path to| Doctor of Physical Therapy Program
Lake Erie College and Gannon University have announced a new articulation agreement that will provide LEC students with a direct and supported pathway into Gannon’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Under the terms of the agreement, up to two qualified Lake Erie College students who meet all academic and application requirements will be guaranteed acceptance into Gannon’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program each academic year. Students from Lake Erie College’s School of Natural Science and Mathematics will benefit from streamlined course transfers, coordinated advising, and preferential consideration during the admissions process.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to creating strong, transparent academic pathways for students pursuing graduate-level healthcare education,” said Dr. Jennifer Kinnaird, Provost of Lake Erie College. “It provides a meaningful advantage for our students who are passionate about physical therapy and are ready to take the next step in their education.”
To qualify, students must have earned a bachelor’s degree in an eligible Lake Erie College program, maintained an overall and prerequisite GPA of 3.0 or higher, and completed all required coursework with a grade of C or better. Additional requirements include submitting materials through the Physical Therapy Centralized Application Service (PTCAS), along with letters of recommendation and transcripts.
In return, Gannon University has committed to accepting specific prerequisite coursework from Lake Erie College and will provide dedicated outreach and advisement to prospective applicants.
The agreement, effective through 2029, reflects both institutions’ shared focus on academic excellence, student success, and workforce readiness in healthcare.
